Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

This policy explains what personal data Lawn Expert Jack (https://lawnexpertjack.com) collects, why, and what rights you have over it — including the specific rights guaranteed to residents of the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If anything here is unclear, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

1. Who We Are

Lawn Expert Jackis the data controller for the personal data described in this policy — meaning we decide why and how it's processed. You can reach us at privacy@lawnexpertjack.com for any privacy question, request, or complaint.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

We collect data in three ways:

  • Data you give us directly. If you submit your email address through a form on this site — for example, to be notified when we add a lawn care company in your city — we collect and store that email solely to fulfill the purpose you submitted it for.
  • Data collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure logs standard technical data on every visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and timestamps. This is used for security, fraud prevention, and understanding site performance — not to identify you personally.
  • Data collected via cookies. Covered in full in Section 5 below. Nothing beyond strictly necessary cookies is set until you give consent through the cookie banner.

We do not require account creation, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of data (health, financial, biometric, etc.) through this site.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To respond to a city-notification request or other message you send us
  • To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website
  • To understand aggregate site usage and improve content (only with analytics consent)
  • To comply with legal obligations if we're required to

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your data for automated profiling or decision-making.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Article 6)

5. Cookies

A cookie banner appears the first time you visit this site. Nothing except strictly necessary cookies is set until you choose Accept All or turn on optional categories yourself — and you can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.

Analytics / PerformanceHelps us understand which pages are useful and where visitors run into trouble, using aggregated, non-identifying data.Yes — opt in/out anytime

We do not currently run advertising or third-party marketing cookies. If that changes, we will add a corresponding category to the cookie banner and ask for your consent before any such cookie is set.

6. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of third-party services to run this site, each of which may process limited technical data as part of providing their service to us:

  • Hosting (Vercel). Our hosting provider processes standard server/request logs (IP address, request metadata) to serve the site and protect against abuse.
  • Affiliate links (e.g. Amazon Associates). When you click certain product links, the destination site may set its own cookie to track the referral — that cookie is set and controlled by the third party, not by us. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more.

We do not share the personal data we collect directly (like a notification email you gave us) with any of these third parties.

7. International Data Transfers

Our hosting infrastructure may process data in the United States. Where data from EEA/UK/Swiss visitors is transferred outside those regions, we rely on our providers' Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect it.

8. Data Retention

We keep the data described in Section 2 only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for. Notification-request emails are kept until we've fulfilled the request (or you ask us to delete them sooner); technical logs are retained on a rolling basis and cycled out automatically by our hosting provider.

9. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you're located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Port your data to another service in a machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that already happened lawfully before you withdrew it
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@lawnexpertjack.com. We'll respond within one month, as required by GDPR.

10. Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including HTTPS encryption in transit — to protect the data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page; check back periodically.
